Al Khatib Family: The State's Humanitarian Crimes and a small Aid
Today three of us: Ehab Jallad, Rima Issa and me, Slava Youssim have bought and supplied food to the Al Khatib family, prosecuted without any reason by the Israeli regime.

WE SPENT 700 NIS TO BUY NUTRITION, AND WE CORDIALLY WELCOME ANY CONTRIBUTION YOU CAN AFFORD YOURSELF.




Any spare money will be used for next humanitarian missions, such as provision of medication, etc.
 









 
 

 

 
To remind you, the Al Khatib family consists of former residents of the Hizme neighborhood, and as such no member of the family has Israeli citizenship (instead they have the notorious “green” ID’s). The family lives in their small home since 1970’s. However, since the apartheid wall was erected, they are imprisoned in the house, now located in Pisgat Zeev neighborhood of Jerusalem. They have no possibility to move inside the Israeli territory, neither to move from Israel out, nor from out of Israel into it. Thus, THEY ARE PRISONERS WITHOUT ANY REASON, being unable even to buy food or medications. Two young women in the family are SUFFERING FROM PROGRESSIVE NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE, and one is already wheelchair bounded, because they RECEIVE NO MEDICAL SERVICE. Recently the Highest Israeli Court (the BAGATZ) has decided that the family will not be evicted from their home and their land, and will continue to lead life in these inhuman conditions, denied freedom of movement and any access to food, water and medical services.

 
 
 
For the first time I visited the family on May 2nd during our study expedition with a few friends. On this day these people, living in a kind of prison, proudly showed us their only source of existence: the animals, such as goats, rabbits, chicken and doves. Today I was told that a few days ago a representative of the Jerusalem municipality came and demanded the family to STOP HOLDING ANIMALS AND TO DESTROY ALL THE CONSTRUCTIONS, where the animals were held. Otherwise, they will be incurred fines of thousands NIS. By such means, the family was compelled to sell all the animals. This means, for example, they have no possibility to eat eggs anymore.
